The American online magazine InformationWeek reports that much of the software/IT activity in Romania is taking place in Cluj-Napoca, which is quickly becoming Romania's technopolis. Romania has a long lasting tradition of education and research in all fields of engineering and software development. Cluj-Napoca is the second most important University center in Romania, having a great number of institutions and ensuring students’ training in a wide range of careers.

Relating to the IT activity, Cluj-Napoca has a significant IT movement, mainly because of the two big and important universities, internationally acknowledged:

• BABES-BOLYAI University, which reunites 20 faculties and more than 43.000 students.  One of its prestigious institutions is The Faculty of Mathematics and Computers Science training more than 1.000 computer specialists each year.

• The TECHNICAL University of Cluj-Napoca, which reunites a number of 8 faculties and more than 12.000 students. The Faculty of Automation and Computers Science is world wide recognized for guiding more than 500 highly skilled IT specialists every year.

In order to facilitate a closer interaction with students and built on its creative pipeline of productive talents, Fortech initiated collaboration partnerships with both the Technical University of Cluj and the Babes Bolyai University. As a result, we are an acknowledged partner of both starting with 2008. It goes without saying, these partnerships not only validate Fortech’s involvement in the local IT movement, but also built up frameworks for internship programs and workshops. In this respect, the company started summer internship sessions providing training opportunities for students and continuous progress for the domestic organizational culture.
