Fortech at Mobile World Congress 2015

Mobile World Congress Barcelona (MWC) is an event that no IT company focused on bringing to market innovative IT solutions can miss. Since mobile applications represent an important component of Fortech’s project portfolio, we consider MWC an excellent venue for networking and a place where our people can learn about the trends and some of the most spectacular and promising developments in the field directly from the source.

Fortech at Mobile World Congress 2015

Fortech attended the 2015 edition of MWC as an exhibitor in the Romanian delegation, attracting at its booth dozens of prospective customers that showed a strong interest in the company’s services. Besides expanding our base of prospects we also made plans for our future collaborations with existing customers and gaged their degree of satisfaction with Fortech’s services.

One of the initiatives that caught our attention was Mobile World Capital Barcelona, which aims at making Barcelona a leader in mobile transformation across strategic sectors like tourism, retail and mass services such as public transport. A tour was organized at 4 hotels in Barcelona to get a first-hand experience with solutions that offer a new and unexpected type of user experience:

  • Digital binoculars, used to see city’s skyline from the hotel’s terrace and info on points of interest, add these points of interest to a personal space in the cloud, making it simple to store this info using the personal mobile device.
  • Smart watches and smart bracelets that provide the user access to their rooms and to all hotel services and allow them to pay for the selected services. Always carrying the wallet or the room key, remembering the security code or the list of what you’ve had from the mini-bar are all history now. The solution comes with full data security.
  • Smart room experience, where a range of technologies, projections and home automation turn the room into a full and rich sensory experience, in line with the guest’s preferences.
