Preliminary Matching
The first step in the selection process is a preliminary matching phase consisting of an HR Interview.
Our human resources (HR) team schedules a phone/Skype call or face to face meeting with you. The purpose of this is to have a first get to know each other meeting, discuss available opportunities, and align expectations. You will also be offered information about Fortech: the internal organization, our core processes, team culture and benefits, among others.
Technical Assessment
To establish your level of know-how, our tech boards evaluate your technical competencies in a technical interview. For some positions, they also use a technical exam or a standardized online test to check your mastery of specific technologies and/or programming concepts.
Based on the result at this stage, you will move on to step 3 or you’ll be notified where to improve based on your results.
Project Matching
For some positions, a project matching phase may be necessary. This involves a deeper look at the project’s specifics together with you and may even include a meeting with the project team at Fortech and/or with the client’s team. This step helps us understand if you match with the team (project) technically and culturally and if you are committed to the project. Please notice that even though we may use this assessment phase, we do not hire project-based, but for long-term collaborations.
Collaboration Proposal
If there still is a match and interest from both parties, we discuss the terms of the collaboration. A final interview with one of our Hiring Managers is set and afterward, you receive a collaboration offer.
Background Check
An incipient part of the hiring process includes a background check. It consists of validating information about studies and professional experience – reference check.
For some positions, our HR team may perform a more detailed background check, outsourcing it to a specialized company.
Orientation & Onboarding
The hiring process includes an orientation program in which you get acquainted with the company, our internal processes and your team and project specifics. In some cases, you might have to travel to the client’s site for knowledge transfer from the first weeks of employment.
The 3 months onboarding period is an excellent timeframe to get acquainted with each other and to assess our match. Both ways feedback is very important to us, especially at this stage.
Engagement Models
On-Site
You can join our team at one of our “A” class offices from our delivery centers, all with modern infrastructure and facilities. By working on-site, you will have the opportunity to directly interact with your colleagues and engage in other activities, besides code writing: mentoring younger team members, participate in external and internal training programs delivery, technical writing, technical recruitment and/or technical sales activities.
Remote
Some of our projects offer the possibility to choose a remote collaboration with a flexible working schedule. You can work from home or anywhere you desire while keeping close communication with your colleagues via Skype for Business, WebEx or other agreed collaboration tools. Your activity will be performed under a safe VPN connection.
Employee
Joining our team as a full-time or part-time employee, you will have access to our full package of perks and benefits, such as paid vacation days increasing with seniority and health subscription at a private clinic.
Freelancer
Freelancing approach is also an option. This is an entrepreneurship mindset and model, based on Time & Material or Fixed Price engagements. You have the possibility to choose work locations – remote and/or our offices.
