Junior COBOL Developers

Fortech is looking to add a Junior COBOL programmer to its development team in Cluj-Napoca.

You will be joining a dynamic environment where you have the chance to participate throughout the complete software development lifecycle and focus on software quality.

You will be part of our team in Cluj-Napoca and connect with software engineers and leaders from our client in Germany.

Your Skills

  • Hands-on experience in COBOL, JCL, CICS, DB2, zOS, TSO, ISPF, on mainframe systems
  • Creating, updating, testing, and maintaining COBOL programs
  • Application management, Job monitoring, and performing root cause analysis
  • Perform source code analysis, extract and document functional flow, code, test and fix technical issues
  • Understand and create Design documents based on requirement analysis
  • Understanding of software development lifecycle processes
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment (Agile or Waterfall based)
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Good communication and interaction skills
  • Good verbal and written communication skills in English. German is a plus

Your Experience

Junior Cobol Developer

  • At least three months of hands-on software development experience with COBOL is highly appreciated
